SUMMARY:Redditch D-Day Remembrance Service
DESCRIPTION:A D-Day Remembrance Service will be held in Redditch on Saturday 6th June 2026\, marking 82 years since the D-Day landings of 6 June 1944\, one of the most significant moments of the Second World War.\nThe service will also recognise 105 years of the Royal British Legion in Redditch and its continued work supporting veterans and their families. \nThe event will take place at the Gardens of Remembrance on Plymouth Road. Attendees are asked to gather at 12:45pm\, with the service beginning at 1pm. The service will include an Act of Remembrance and the laying of wreaths in honour of those who served and sacrificed.\nOrganised by the Redditch Branch of the Royal British Legion\, the service is open to veterans\, families\, residents and visitors who wish to pay their respects and reflect on both the events of D-Day and the legacy that followed.

DESCRIPTION:The streets of Alcester will once again be filled with food\, flavour and plenty to explore this Saturday 16 May\, as the popular Alcester Food Festival Alcester Food Festival gets underway from around 9am and runs throughout the day.\n\n\n\nVisitors can expect a wide mix of street food\, artisan producers\, and market stalls lining the town\, with everything from freshly prepared hot food to local produce\, baked goods and sweet treats. It’s one of those events where you can quite easily turn up for a quick look and end up staying for hours.\n\n\n\nAlongside the food\, the town itself plays a big part. Alcester’s independent shops\, cafés and pubs will all be open as usual\, giving people plenty to explore beyond the stalls\, making it a good opportunity to support local businesses while you’re there.\n\n\n\nGetting There – Park & Ride Details\n\n\nA dedicated park and ride service will be in operation for the event\, helping to ease congestion in the town centre.\n\n\nParking is available at the former GreenMech site (now Greenfab)\, located just off the Birmingham Road\, opposite the Rugby Club and behind Kings Court Hotel.\n\n\n\nFrom there\, shuttle coaches will run throughout the day\, taking visitors directly into the festival.\n\n\nA suggested donation of £5 per car is being asked to help cover the cost of the coach service.\n\nCash is required\, with collection points in place on arrival.\nLocal Scout volunteers will be on site to guide vehicles and assist with parking.\n\n\n\nWhat3Words locations for the park and ride sites:\nGreenfab: slicing.bumps.transcribes\nKings Court area: sunbeam.panicking.popping\n\n\n\nWith large crowds expected\, using the park and ride is likely to be the easiest way to access the event.
